These products are liquid polyethylene glycols manufactured by alkali catalyzed polymerization of ethylene oxide with subsequent neutralization of the catalyst. They are readily soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, glycols and chloroform. Kollisolv PEG grades are available in different molecular weights. The higher the molecular weight of the product, the less hygroscopic it is and lower is its solubility in water.
